The Book of Revelation teaches us that the time will come when Russia will amass a great army against Israel.  This will most likely occur during the Tribulation period after the Christians have been Raptured.

                 And, why should Russia attack Israel?  Is it because of their mineral wealth?  Probably not?  Israel doesn’t even possess oil.  The truth is, Russia will attack Israel because of their food.  Israel is the leading food producer in the Middle East and they have so much that they export it to many other countries.  Russia, on the other hand, can barely feed their own people!

Why is that?  After all, Russia is a huge nation and has modern farm equipment.  But, the truth is, even with all of their technology, Russia has suffered decades of continual crop failure.  Their citizens must scramble on a daily basis just to scrape up enough to eat.  And, what is the reason for all this famine?  It’s found in Genesis 12:3 where God declares, “I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee…..”  Russia has gone out of their way to curse the Jews and persecute them for a long time.  And, incidentally,  this is why America has been so blessed because we have supported Israel and the Jewish people.  The blessing of God’s mighty hand is upon our nation!

Today, we are watching a dramatic scene unfold as the evil president of Iran has declared publically that Israel should be “wiped off the face of the map!”  This crazy man, who is guided by the religious leaders of his country, has made it very plain that his country will attain nuclear weapons and, when they do, they will use them against the tiny land of Israel.

But, don’t fear…..Israel is nobody to fool with.  They already have nuclear weapons and have had them for decades.  Israel has made a solemn vow that they will never allow a foreign country to, again, take over their land.  They even have in place a strategy called, “The Sampson Option.”  Just as Sampson of old tore down the Dagon Temple killing himself and his enemies in the process, so has Israel decided that they will destroy their own country with nuclear bombs rather than allow another country to have it!  Folks, this is serious business.

As you pray for America, pray that she will always have a president who will support Israel and love the Jewish people.  If we should ever get a president that turns against that nation, I fear that we might be in serious trouble.

The Bible also declares that we should continually pray, “for the peace of Jerusalem.”  What does this mean?  It means simply that God understands and so should you that there will never be peace in Jerusalem until her Messiah comes in the clouds.  So, when you pray for her peace, you are really praying for our Lord Jesus to come back.  Do you see it?  So, pray that a lot.  When Jesus returns, He will set up a government that will truly bring peace to this war-torn planet.  When Jesus comes, the lion will lay down with the lamb.  So, pray!
